Nikoi Island, Indonesia | Sunday Night
Bod wasn't going to let something like a bruised and sore hand stop him from spending a few days alone with Kate. He'd gone on ahead to make sure everything was settled and ready to go, giving her ample time to spend at the movie theatre beforehand.
It wasn't that much of a hardship to be there alone. Nikoi Island was beautiful and quiet and private. He'd gotten them set up in one of the beachhouses and gladly changed into a light shirt and shorts to better deal with the warm weather.
Being able to just sit in the open air lounge area, bare foot and drinking a cold water while watching the white sand and blue sea was an experience Bod wasn't soon going to forget. He'd been hoping for something different, for something they hadn't yet done and he thought this solved it.
He hadn't told Kate where they were going or anything about it but he'd send a few coordinates along that would allow her to catch a portal and find him. If she got lost, well, he hoped she didn't get lost. He had no experience with that.

She knew it was warm, though. And she knew she'd probably have to change into lighter clothes even if the ones she was wearing weren't exactly covering all of her up, either. And she was pretty sure this was the right place, as she made her way up to the house along the beach.
It just looked right.

The sun had long ago set but there were lights illuminating the beach houses and the lounge. Bod was still in one of the loungers because it was just so comfortable.

"Hey."

And he smiled and kissed her again.

He tried to hide that wince by yawning and then smiled at her. "Onward, then?"
no subject
"Onward," she nodded, slinging her bag over her shoulder. "Or upward, I guess."

There was a bedroom off to the back with a big king sized bed and a bathroom off the bedroom. They ended up in the living area complete with wraparound sofa, a few oversized chairs, desk, shelves filled with books, native art and other odds and ends. The living room opened to the balcony and another beach view.
There was a kitchen down the hall in case cooking needed to be done but Bod figured they'd probably just eat downstairs. All in all, it was small and cozy but he couldn't stop enjoying hearing the beach from nearby and smelling the salt coming off the ocean.

"Oh my gourd, I love it," she sighed. "Seriously."

He didn't need a lot to keep him entertained. "I figure we can do that up here as well. Did you want to possibly change? Or shower? Or anything? I didn't have anything planned for tonight because I didn't know how tired you'd be."

He didn't think she'd choose the milk.
"All of them are cold."

That was something he'd seen done before and knew it wouldn't be a complete disaster for her. He kept the alcohol fairly light too so she could avoid a hangover.
While he waited, he flexed his sore hand a few times to try and loosen it up. The bruise on his knuckles had faded a bit and it didn't hurt as badly as it had but still. He had to remember that punching people hurt.

"So, what'd you get me?"
no subject
"I'm not the world's greatest bartender," he started, taking a nice, long, appreciative look at her before continuing, "but hopefully this will do. You look beautiful."

It was one of those days.
