The thunderstorms were keeping Bod inside for today. Yesterday, they hadn't been too bad but he couldn't find any real reason to go out today. He had no errands to run, no food he needed to get and nothing that he really wanted to explore so he decided not to pass up a quiet day in his room.

That eventually turned into organizing his books. And where he'd arrived on the island with just a few small books, he now had enough that boxes were overflowing and he was thinking of investing in a bookshelf. Until then, he was shoving them into his closet, trying to stack them on the top shelf. Poor Bod had no experience really stacking anything because one book too many sent the stack toppling over and right onto himi.

Well, right onto his head more like. Most of them were soft and worn and didn't do much damage though he hadn't counted on one of his thicker books smacking him right above the eye hard enough to daze him and leave an oozing cut.

So, that's where Bod was, holding the spot above his eye and leaning against the side of his closet. Books: a weapon in disguise. Ow.

[Door's mostly closed, post is open and IDEK. I had a long day at work.]

Bod took a few moments to just kiss and lick her neck, breathing in and enjoying her skin before he said anything else.

"Your home like what, then?" he asked, curious as to the answer.

"You're expecting me to still be able to answer?" Kate chuckled quietly, not that she wasn't going to try, even if the concept was a little abstract. "My home like... somewhere I belong."

"I was just curious what home for you smells like," Bod explained, whispering those words near her ear and nuzzling against her temple and into her hair. "That's all."

"You," she whispered back to him. "It just smells like you. A certain kind of home, anyway. There are others but it's a complicated thing."

"And now you know why I let you have my clothes so often," Bod asked, pressing his nose against her cheek and grinning.

"Perhaps," she allowed, curling her hands into his shirt at his sides. "Though I'm sure it could be simplified to just you smelling really really good."

"Thank you," he mumbled, laughing. "You're going to inflate my ego and I don't know if I really understand how to deal with such a thing."

"I will deal with your ego if that happens," Kate replied, ducking her head to kiss his neck, now. "You won't have to worry about it."

"You're always confident," Bod declared, reaching down to try and pull Kate's shirt off. They were doing this slow but he still wanted to touch her skin.

Kate laughed, obligingly raising her arms once she realized what he was intending to do. "Well, why wouldn't I be?"

"What if I became an out of control egomaniac with a large ego?" Bod asked, taking her shirt off and tossing it aside. "How would you deal with that?"

"I would beat your ego into submission," Kate informed him, wasting no time in getting her arms around his neck and her now less clothed body closer to his. "Because obviously mine is bigger."

"And yet, I deal with your large ego quite easily," he pointed out, gliding his fingers up and down her bare back. "What does that make me, hmm?"

"A good match for me," she replied easily, catching his lips for a light teasing kiss. "Ego handler."

"I sound like a lion tamer," he replied, mumbling the words against her lips, "except I've no whip."

Kate snickered into the kiss, then caught his lip between her teeth for a moment before answering, making it a seductive purr just to play with the fact that he didn't realize the implications of the things he said.

"Well, I'm sure a whip could be arranged..."

"It...could?" Bod asked, interested despite himself. "And what would you do with a whip?"

Kate suppressed another snicker. "Well, what does anyone do with a whip?" she asked. "Take control of a situation, obviously."

[therewaslife]

"I'm just surprised you don't think you can take control of a situation without a whip," Bod said, showing some boldness right there.

"Oh but I can," Kate drawled, quirking an eyebrow. "Some people just find that a whip helps. Besides, it's you who felt like a lion tamer but without a whip."

"And you're the one talking about taking controls of situations," he returned, moving his fingers down the straps of the bra she was still wearing (sadly).

"And you're the one contemplating taking my bra off." Lucky guess. "Since we're stating the obvious and everything."

"Do you not want to take your bra off?" Bod asked, pushing one strap down her shoulder. He leaned forward and kissed that shoulder. "Would you rather keep it on?"

"Not what I said," Kate replied, shaking her head. "I think our desires on this particular issue are pretty much the same."

[therewaslife]

"You're probably right," he said, reaching around her to try and unclasp the bra to make it easier to get off of her. "I've many desires. Many, many desires when it comes to you."
