Even if he hadn't been outside much today, Bod knew the island had moved again. For one, there was no snow and for two, it just felt different here. He couldn't really explain it but it felt different. He'd almost miss the cold weather but he was happy not to have to bundle himself up just to hang around his alcove.

And hanging around was exactly what he was doing. He was sitting up in the small bed, reading a book he'd read multiple times already and enjoying the moment of quiet and relaxation he'd been provided this Sunday. He'd learned to take those moments where he could get them.

Things could turn around and surprise you so quickly. For now, things were good and Bod was content.

Bod hadn't spent much time in his cabin today. He'd felt the need to go out despite the weather. He'd spent awhile in the graveyard, letting the snow dot his hat and jacket before he'd gone to the actual mainland. It'd been warmer there and he hadn't needed his winter gear but he'd kept it on anyway and endured the looks. People had stared at him plenty. He was used to it.

Now, he was back and trying to warm up again by sipping from a mug of hot chocolate and idly flipping through a book he'd purchased on the mainland. There was also a map nearby, something he'd gotten on a whim to try and find the address from Silas' letter. He wanted to see where it was in regards to other places Bod knew Silas tended to gravitate to. That was spread out beside him and had already been marked by a pencil.

Bod was determined to keep his mind busy, trying to get it off of sustained feelings of sullenness and confusion. Those thoughts tended to show up despite his efforts though.

[Open for cabinmates/visitors. Thank you LJ for FINALLY letting me post even if I had to go home to do it. Ugh.]

Bod was taking his time in getting himself packed up and moved down to the cabins. There wasn't a time limit and they weren't going anywhere so his bag was open on his bed and he was sitting on the edge of his bed, back to the door.

There was a book open on his lap that he'd started to pack but gotten distracted with because he'd shoved Silas' unsettling letter in between the pages. Now, he was reading it again and still coming up empty as to what to do with it. The logical thing would be to find the address and see what was happening but that might also be the idiotic thing. He figured he could write back and see if that got him a response.

Or. Or he could do nothing and wait for Silas to make contact again. That would be the smartest thing but it'd also be the one that burdened him heavily. Curiosity was occasionally unwelcome. Still, he was reading it again, going over it with a critical eye and hoping the words gave him answers.

[Door and post are open. Yay finally home from work.]

As requested, Bod had bought junk food. He'd purchased a lot of junk food that ran the gamut from pudding cups and donuts to a pepperoni pizza, cheese fries and breadsticks. He'd picked up crackers and potato chips and added some ice cream and soda for good measure. So, that was set. Getting it all back to Kate's room had been a challenge but he'd succeeded and now he was making himself comfortable on her bed.

The urge to snoop had been minor thankfully and walking through the snow had worn him out that her bed was a much, much stronger prospect than looking around her room to find things he didn't know about. Also, he just wasn't that type of fellow. Shoes kicked off, Bod had started without Kate by snacking on the cheese fries.

He could get used to junk food. But, as a joke, he'd dumped two bags of baby carrots on her desk. He didn't expect her to eat them but the amusement couldn't be resisted.

[For the girl whose room it is!]

There wasn't a lot happening today. Bod didn't have classes, hadn't wanted to go into England and hadn't done anything past getting up and retrieving breakfast from the common room earlier. There had been mail for him yesterday, mail from Silas that he hadn't expected. Most of the time, he got a postcard that had nothing but an 'S' in Silas' signature script.

The mail that had arrived today had been different. It had been a letter but it was...confusing. It didn't make sense and Bod was puzzling over that letter while he sat at his desk. It didn't sound like Silas. It was too open, too glib and far too detailed for someone that kept his life very private. Bod thought he was fairly close to his guardian but even he didn't know that much.

Something was wrong. Something was...off. Bod was squinting at the letter, peering closely at the handwriting and turning over the ramifications of what might be going on in his head. He'd be at this awhile, most likely.

The thunderstorms were keeping Bod inside for today. Yesterday, they hadn't been too bad but he couldn't find any real reason to go out today. He had no errands to run, no food he needed to get and nothing that he really wanted to explore so he decided not to pass up a quiet day in his room.

That eventually turned into organizing his books. And where he'd arrived on the island with just a few small books, he now had enough that boxes were overflowing and he was thinking of investing in a bookshelf. Until then, he was shoving them into his closet, trying to stack them on the top shelf. Poor Bod had no experience really stacking anything because one book too many sent the stack toppling over and right onto himi.

Well, right onto his head more like. Most of them were soft and worn and didn't do much damage though he hadn't counted on one of his thicker books smacking him right above the eye hard enough to daze him and leave an oozing cut.

So, that's where Bod was, holding the spot above his eye and leaning against the side of his closet. Books: a weapon in disguise. Ow.

[Door's mostly closed, post is open and IDEK. I had a long day at work.]

After his shift at the diner, Bod hadn't wanted to go back to the dorms just yet. He figured the weekend would be hectic what with the new students arriving and all the festivities that went along with that and with a free evening, he wanted to do something that let him stretch his legs and rid himself of the restless, distracted feelings.

So, he'd ended up in Georgetown. The sun hadn't yet set and the day was warm which helped his mood shift from nominally sad to something better than that. He spent most of his time walking, making notes of different places he wanted to stop into before heading back. Right now, he'd found himself inside Georgetown Cupcakes. Considering he'd taken a class this semester on cupcakes, he couldn't help his curiosity...and his hunger. As soon as he walked in, his stomach lurched and before Bod knew it, he found himself sitting at a table with five cupcakes in front of him.

They just all looked and smelled so good and the clerks had been kind and bubbly at him which Bod figured was a way to get him to buy things but it had been nice enough. Now, the trick with these would be not to make a total mess and not to shove them all in his face. He was a lad that had been raised on junk food so really, eating bad was just his nature. Later, he'd walk more and work these off but...cupcakes now.

[NFB but yeah, open for calls/texts/if you wanna find him, suresies.]

Bod was relaxing. The cabin seemed to call for relaxation. It was secluded and quiet and warm (but not too hot). He couldn't not relax and it seemed the perfect activity while he waited for Kate to join him.

He'd left the door unlocked and figured she'd be the only one to find the cabin so he had no worries. He was up on the balcony, sunglasses on and feet up, just enjoying the view. He'd started the hot tub for later and his food and flowers were in the kitchen, waiting.

It was a few days late but it seemed to be the perfect anniversary celebration.

Bod felt like he'd jinxed everything by saying this week had to be better than the last. It certainly hadn't started off that way, not when his girlfriend had turned into a vampire and he'd had to run away from her and not when she'd returned to normal and then run away. Couple that with the heaviness he was still feeling over Katniss and Bod just felt...lonely right now.

Usually cabins alleviated those feelings quite well because you couldn't not feel like you were part of something when you were in such close quarters with other people but Bod just felt lonely and alone. He'd thought about walking into town to the graveyard after class but had decided against it for one reason or another. Instead, he'd found his way back to the cabins and shut himself in his alcove to have some quiet time.

He thought about calling and checking on Kate but her one voicemail made him hesitant to bother her. Times like this, he really wished he had a contact number for Silas but Bod knew his guardian wouldn't carry a mobile phone. Sighing, Bod picked up the cup of something warm and caffeinated he'd made himself and sat back on his bed. Apparently, he was just going to brood quietly. That wasn't his original plan but he was pretty high on it right now.

Bod had no idea anything was amiss today. He'd gotten fortunate and hadn't changed at all which meant he was sleeping peacefully next to someone he thought was his girlfriend. He was just glad she'd fallen asleep eventually and hadn't seemed to wake up too often struggling with nightmares. Right now, everything seemed normal.

That would definitely change soon but Bod wasn't going to wake up and make it happen any sooner than it had to. He was just going to stay asleep with his face pressed against a pillow that smelled like Kate and under sheets that were warm.

[For the, um, changed girlfriend]

Eventually, the rain had to stop. Bod still believed that even if he was becoming less and less sure with each new day of rain he woke up to see. It was still raining today and it suited Bod's mood pretty well. He felt quiet and thoughtful, more pensive than not and he'd been dealing with all of that by doing a lot of reading and a lot of thinking.

There was an open book on his desk right now, in fact, but Bod wasn't really reading. He had his chin in his hand and was quietly watching the raindrops hit the window. The rain had to stop eventually. He found himself missing the sun and he missed being outside without returning absolutely soaked. Bod sighed and looked back down at the words on the page before shaking his head. He wasn't going to get any reading done.

It hadn't taken long before thoughts Bod had been keeping pushed down surfaced again. Graduation weekend hadn't been the place to ponder things like the death of a friend or being asked to watch that happen. Now though, with the week moving lazily along, there wasn't much else to do.

Going by the books spread out around him on his bed, it was apparent that he'd been trying to keep his mind busy but it hadn't worked. He'd even picked up a notebook to try and scrawl down a thought or two but that had been discarded some place near his feet.

Now, he was just laying on his bed, one arm above his head and eyes turned towards the window. Since trying to keep his mind busy hadn't worked, he was just letting the thoughts come now. There were a lot of conflicting emotions having to do with both Katniss and himself and all things in between.

At some point today, Bod knew a walk down to the graveyard would be needed but not right now. Right now, he was just being quietly thoughtful in the middle of a messy bed.

After the events during the graduation ceremony, Bod had offered to take Kate off island for a breather from everything. When she'd agreed, he'd made a few quick phone calls, found a very nice place in Washington DC and was now opening the door to the executive suite. He'd wanted something big and spacious, giving Kate all the breathing room she needed and this seemed to fit.

Carrying both their small bags, he opened the door and gestured her inside, smiling. "I'll order the food as soon as we're inside and settled. I'm sure they have a big, soft robe you can put on since I do remember how much you like those."

And she looked might good in them too.

It had been awhile since Bod had found his way to his favorite spot near the lake. The weather had been too cold for the longest time and now that it wasn't, he couldn't resist the lure of packing up his tent, some food and a few books before departing the island after finishing his shift at the diner. He wouldn't stay long, he had a graduation to attend tomorrow but sometimes it was nice to get away.

The tent was pitched quickly and Bod had stowed everything but one book. Cap and sunglasses shading his face from the sun, Bod was now sitting near the edge of the lake, book propped up on bent knees and eyes skimming the words.

Occasionally, he'd looked up and just stare at the clouds passing through the sky or the ripples in the lake. The fresh air felt nice on his face and he smiled. The book was soon forgotten so he could just enjoy the quiet and the breeze and being outside.

Bod wasn't that great a date organizer. He knew what sorts of things Kate liked doing but he also didn't want her to get too bored. And he wanted to give her a variety of things to choose from to try and encompass everything in one single day. Bod perhaps just needed to not think too much about these things.

Eventually, he'd decided they could spend the day in Georgetown. He'd never been there before and there were stores to shop in, cruises to take, places to eat and even some historical places to see if Bod was able to convince Kate to let him be a nerd.

Right now, they were just walking along the bustling streets, enjoying the warmer weather and the fresh air. They were on a date and maybe it wasn't the most conventional of dates but it was a date.

Spontaneity in terms of traveling was something Bod was quite good at. Today's trip had been even more sudden than usual but Bod wasn't complaining. He'd booked a portal, packed a bag and retrieved Kate (and wow, that was bringing back memories) and taken them both off the island to somewhere that would hopefully be safer.

Now, Bod had never been to an amusement park before. He'd been to carnivals but nothing of this scope. Portalocity had been running a special, Bod had booked it and now here they were, standing at the entrance where Bod was buying them both tickets and glancing up at the rides soaring above the trees with fascination.

"Wow."

And he held out Kate's ticket to her while he said that, eyes still up on the sky.

The air from the window was crisp and cool which meant Bod, of course, had to be near it while he was inside his room. There was a box out on his bed in which he was packing a few older, worn books so he could store them and have more space for the newer books he'd been acquiring over the past few months.

When he went to put the box of books into his closet, his eyes caught site of another box he'd put in there and, for the first time in awhile, his heart didn't hammer painfully in his chest. Instead, it just kind of fluttered and he smiled. The box of books got set down and he looked at that box for a minute longer before leaving it be.

With the arrival of the spring season, he figured he could put some heavier winter clothes away now so that's what he'd proceeded to next. It'd be sad to put away his ugly hat but he figured he could find another, lighter hat that would look just as ridiculous.

It was grey and overcast when Bod had woken up earlier and it had stayed that way throughout his morning errands. With most of his agenda completed, Bod felt that pulling his desk chair up to the window so he could watch the clouds move and possibly watch the rain pelt against the glass panes was deserved.

There was an unopened book on his lap, unread but well worn. He'd read it before and he'd read it again. He wasn't reading it now though. He was in an introspective sort of mood, thoughts shifting back and forth between a few things. There was a dance tomorrow that he didn't know if he wanted to attend. There was Silas still to deal with. There was the upcoming summer term and the future in general. There was the fact that his hair had started to grow out again and he didn't know if cutting it short was something he wanted to do.

Bod sighed and slouched down a little further in his chair. He'd solve nothing today but he couldn't seem to break himself out of the thoughtful mood. He'd let it run its course and then read or nap or go for a walk.

[Door and post open, of course]

Bod's early morning trip to the bookstore had yielded seven new books. They ranged in topic from linguistics to geography to graveyards and Bod wasn't even sure he'd like a few of them but they'd been cheap and he'd had money and he couldn't really pass up a book.

Of course, when he'd gotten back to his room, the books got dumped out on his desk, making an already bigger mess of the clutter he had in and around his desk. It was a chaotic sort of organization but it was still chaotic and Bod was beginning to wonder what sorts of things he'd lost underneath all his books, papers, notebooks and other random odds and ends.

Without even realizing, Bod started trying to organize his mess of a desk. He hadn't realized he'd acquired so much over the last year or so and now it was all getting pulled out, looked at and organized. The organization wouldn't last long, he was sure, but he was proud of himself for the attempt.

Lately, bouts of moodiness had been all too commonplace for Bod. After this past weekend, he'd gone straight past moody right into brooding and deep confusion. Trying to talk to Silas about why he'd done what he'd done hadn't been successful. His guardian wouldn't explain and it had left Bod about as angry as he'd ever been at the older man. When that was coupled with watching Kate be affectionate with someone else, Bod didn't know if his mood would ever improve.

He was trying to take his mind off things with a book but that wasn't working as evidenced by having read the same sentence about ten times. When he got up to pace, he got so annoyed at himself that he sat down on his bed and made himself stop. Sitting there just wasn't going to do Bod eventually got up, open his door and started tossing his meager possessions out onto his bed.

From there, he stuffed the box of things Kate had given him back into a corner of the closet, giving it a sharp kick while he did. Today, he was finally putting it away. And today, he was just going to reorganize the closet around it. Bod led such an exciting life.

There wasn't a lot to do on the weekends. Bod had realized that awhile ago but just hadn't gotten around to admitting it to himself. None of his books held his attention longer for five minutes, music just seemed to be too loud and cleaning could wait till another day.

Despite filling up his life with employment and extra strides in being social, Bod still found himself bogged down by his thoughts every so often. Most of the more painful ones had been buried deep, only unearthed in his dreams or when he was at an emotional low. Still, that didn't stop thoughts of Silas or Miss Lupescu or even the Jacks from invading his mind.

Bod shook those thoughts away and got off his bed, heading to the window to peer out of it. It was bright but chilly, a perfect winter day, really. The snow from several weeks ago had vanished and he almost missed the quiet it had brought. At least then, he'd had an excuse for doing nothing.

Still standing beside the window, arms crossed, he found his thoughts taking over his attention again and now he was just watching the action out the window while thinking. Not very exciting at all.

Yesterday had been a bit of a challenge. Between the cold weather, the lack of electricity and making his first trip to Kate's room since he'd broken up with her, Bod had slept soundly despite the cold. Still, he was glad to find the power returned this morning and the temperatures a little bit warmer than before.

The weather was, in fact, warm enough that he had the window open. That let in a crisp, fresh breeze and meant Bod could sit by the window and alternate between reading and watching the goings on outside the dorms.

There was a restlessness settling deep in his bones that he was trying to ignore. It was itching underneath his skin and making him uncomfortable despite his repeated attempts to ignore it. His life had been turned so upside down and so sideways that everything felt wrong lately. There was no closure for anything and that was leaving him conflicted.

He kept reading though and ignored those feelings. For the time being, at least.

Despite the slight hangover, Bod was actually feeling pretty good when he eventually stepped out of Caroline's room the day after. He'd slept later than planned (it had been a late night) and that, coupled with a very good previous night, meant even doing a walk of shame wasn't going to really get him down.

Sure, he knew he looked a little foolish, carrying both his coat and sweater in one hand and his shoes in the other (getting dressed had been hard with a hangover) and the bright light was hurting his eyes but it'd been nice to be close with someone again. He hadn't realized how much he'd missed it. Maybe he'd see if she wanted to do it again sometime.

For now, he was going to shuffle back towards his room, carrying clothes in his hands but smiling a little. It felt nice to do that again too.

[Look, it's his first walk of shame and I'm posting this just for the tag I can make. The post is totally open so you can catch him on the fourth floor, the stairs or the fifth. It had taken Bod a lot longer than he wanted to admit that the messages left on his phone yesterday were obviously not for him. Thankfully. The last one he'd received had been the one that had turned his cheeks red and made him want to get rid of phones entirely. He hadn't had any of those problems back in the graveyard so he could see why technology wasn't always the boon it was made out to be.

Today, his mobile phone was shut off and he was ignoring the room phone. He'd pulled his desk chair up near the window and had found a comfortable position of feet on the window ledge and book in his lap. It was a chilly day but Bod didn't really mind. It was refreshing and woke up his sluggish mind (it'd been that way a lot lately).

All in all, he'd had worse days.

Bod hadn't done much of anything at the picnic yesterday. He figured it was warranted considering the previous day had been emotional and trying but he still hated the missed opportunity of meeting people.

With his first class of the week completed, he'd come back to his room and left the door open to both listen to the noises from the hall and not make it so quiet in his room. Previously, the quiet wouldn't have bothered him but he found it was easier and easier to think of things that made him upset if it was too quiet. There were a lot of things on his mind and a lot of things weighing on his shoulders.

He was trying to think of good thing, of productive things. His mind was going over his first class and the thrill of being driven and driving. He recalled his first day of work and some promises he'd made about getting more involved.

So, the door was open and the window was too, allowing some cool but fresh air into the room. Bod was stacking books on his desk, rearranging them into one order before deciding he didn't like that order and rearranging them again.

Mostly, it was idle work meant to keep him busy.

Bod didn't really know what to do on the first day of a new year. It didn't feel much different from yesterday and it didn't look much different either. He'd remained at the party even past midnight and then had come back to his room and slept for several long hours.

Now, he was wide awake and unsure of what to do with himself. He supposed he could read but he was running low on books and didn't want to run out. There was always the thought of trying to call Silas but he figured his guardian wouldn't be around.

In the end, cleaning won out. He'd already gone downstairs to start a load of laundry and was meticulously organizing books, papers, odds and ends and other things he'd acquired. He'd made his bed before deciding that he wanted to wash the sheets and the bed became unmade.

Tomorrow, there'd be the welcome picnic and after that, classes, so today just seemed like a day to clean and organize his room and his life.

It was the day after Christmas, it was snowing, and Bod was sitting in his room, brooding as he tended to be doing lately. Fortunately, he'd gotten off his bed and was now at his desk, book open on his lap. He was ignoring it though, choosing instead to watch the light snow fall outside his window. He'd heard the term white Christmas yesterday but it hadn't really meant much to him.

The light music coming from the radio on his desk only distracted him from the book more. That was probably a good thing considering it was one of the books Kate had given him. He hadn't even realized it when he'd picked it up. Hopefully that obliviousness would continue because it'd only depress him further if he did realize it.

For now, the book was just open and his eyes were on the snow. Maybe he'd go out later and take a walk. Maybe not.

[The snow is falling here too. Door and post are open. Happy snowed in day for me]

The day had changed but Bod's mood really hadn't despite his enjoyable conversation with Ariel. It had been nice to not think of things for awhile even if they'd immediately flooded back when he'd returned to his room.

Bod knew he couldn't feel this bad forever but it was still awful at the moment. Jacob was still gone and Bod had started wondering if he was ever going to change back. Kate had been a cat for awhile but never this long. He hoped his roommate would end up all right.

His phone jolted him out of his brood... )

After saying a quiet goodbye to Silas, Bod turned off his phone and settled it back on the nightstand. He didn't really know what to do now so he just lay back on his bed and stared at the ceiling.

He kind of missed the Christmas lights.

[Door is closed but the post is open, sure sure. He's just mopey and I gotta get it out through posts so I don't get emo too.]

Bod wasn't sure what to think of the fact that the lights in his room had morphed into Christmas lights seemingly overnight. They cast the room in alternating shades of red, green, white and blue, making the room seem cheerier than it was.

The fact was, Bod was still miserable. The box of things from Kate was still untouched and Bod himself was sitting at his desk, head bowed and phone in hand, occasionally paging through some of the photographs he'd taken of her. It was silly, he knew, because it was only making him feel worse but he was only human.

Earlier in the day, he'd gotten a postcard from Silas with a few short words and an address. Bod didn't know if it was merely a mailing address or some place Silas was that Bod could visit. He wasn't sure he wanted to find out earlier.

He reached to brush some nonexistent hair out of his eyes, realizing for the fiftieth time that he didn't have floppy hair anymore. It was short and close cropped and strange. Bod dropped his phone with an exasperated sigh. He reached for the postcard instead and fingered it, figuring that was healthier than what he had been doing.

For someone who liked the quiet as much as he did, it was hard coming back to an empty room. Jacob was still animal shaped and...there were no other visitors to be had, he guessed. He left the door open, though, listening for sounds from the corridor anyway.

After talking with Ender earlier in the morning, Bod had kept moving and ended up off island. From there, he'd ended up in a barber shop. It was stupid to be reminded of a relationship by hair but there it was. He couldn't help it. It had been...it was stupid. It was stupid but, despite that, Bod had gotten a drastic haircut. His ears and forehead felt colder already.

He'd thought the change would help but it didn't. It just made him feel odd. He supposed it'd take some time to get used to. Right now, his hand just kept going up to touch the short strands. It wasn't bad. Just...different.

The box of things Kate had shoved at him was sitting abandoned next to his desk. He hadn't touched anything. He didn't know what to do with it. With a sigh, Bod sat down on the edge of his bed and reached for a half read book on his nightstand.

Flipping through it, he was pretty certain he read every fifth word. It wasn't a very good book.

[Open door, open post. FYI, this is about what Bod's hair looks like now. There's just no way I'm replacing all his icons. Whoohoo, one thing knocked off zee list!]

Bod had been prepared to catch another portal to elsewhere should his attempt at getting back on the island fail. When it didn't, he breathed a sigh of relief and made his way back to the dorms. After nearly a week of camping and hitchhiking, he felt dirty and gritty in places he didn't even realize he had.

So, after making it back to his room (and giving an idle thought to Jacob's whereabouts), he stripped out of his clothes and went into the shower. He stayed there for a long, long while and only emerged when his pale skin was blotched with red from the hot water.

With the door shut and locked, he kept the towel around his hips and wandered around to unpack things and to peer out the window to make sure things looked all right on the island. Whatever had happened, everything looked...mostly in place.

He took a seat on the edge of the bed and closed his eyes, sighing. It had been a long week and he hadn't even been here.

[Door is closed and locked but hey, the post is open, if wanted]

After waking up from the surreal dream in which he'd flirted and danced with someone he didn't even know, Bod had decided that maybe a trip off island wouldn't be so bad. He was still angry at Kate for how she'd acted towards him before she'd left and he hated that he felt bad about helping people but he'd gone anyway just to keep himself safe.

So, he'd booked a trip back to the UK through Portalocity and, after some hitchhiking and camping, ended up in front of the William Wallace statue. If he couldn't be back home, helping people through a crisis, he supposed that taking in some history and learning would be a decent trade off.

Later, he had plans to explore the Union Terrace Gardens before bunking down for the night but now he was just enjoying the sunny day even if his mood could have been a mite better. He hoped it would improve as the days passed but he'd been locked into moody and melancholy since earlier in the week.

He was safe though.

Bod didn't know what to think about what he was seeing. From his view of the window, it looked like parts of the town were just...turning into a mess of walls. Add that to what he'd heard on the radio and Bod was beginning to get that uneasy feeling in stomach that tended to come along with some dire island oddness. The last time he'd felt like this, he'd ended up stranded in an awful world for nearly half a week.

He didn't want that to happen this time but he also...didn't know if he could turn away. He didn't want to end up as he had last time but if there was something he could do to help, he'd want to do that too.

For now, he was at his window, brow furrowed and mind moving quickly to try and figure out what he could do without getting himself into too much trouble. Everything looked calm if different so maybe that was a good thing.

Of course, since he'd had a late lunch that started to take effect at that moment, Bod found himself slumping down against the wall to fall into a surreal kind of dream.

After Kate had tipped him off to their anniversary coming up, Bod had spent the time between then and now planning something special. After all, it was a big one. They'd spent six months together and Bod had absolutely no regrets about that. So, he'd taken it upon himself to plan something special for her.

That meant that he'd asked her to dress nicely and asked her to bring a blindfold which was probably confusing but he'd wanted to keep it a surprise. The ride through the portal probably clued her into some sort of travel but she didn't know where.

Later, he had plans for the typical anniversary date of dinner and spending the night together but, right now, as the sun began to set, he'd brought them to the entrance of a rather sprawling graveyard.

This time, it wasn't just any graveyard. This was his graveyard and he thought showing that to her might be pretty special. So, that's where they were, hand in hand

Last night, Bod had made plans to spend today and most of tomorrow on the mainland. Waking up and finding it chillier than expected, he had to cancel those plans. He still found himself wanting to be off island though so he'd come to the mainland anyway. He just had no plans to camp out.

A hotel seemed like the next best thing and as soon as Bod had reserved his room, he felt a little better. Maybe he just needed a change of pace, a change of scenery. It helped that the room was large but quaint and that the lobby offered comfortable seats and a quiet atmosphere.

That was where Bod found himself now, tucked into a large comfy love seats with a book open in his lap and a coffee steaming on a table next to him. It was nice, Bod thought. He hesitated to think it good but it was nice. He liked it.

Camping could wait till a warmer day.
